NeoConstellation: New Beginnings Episode V: 5 Guardians ================================ ********************************************************************** WARNING: this episode contains a lot of people doing really immature things such as arguing and being more stubborn than any person can in real life. This has been a warning. ********************************************************************** Cassiopeia and the sad little group of Constellation senshi plodded across the somewhat uneven, grassy terrian. "This sucks." She complained. "It was _your_ bright idea!" Retorted Shelby. Orion sighed. A bit too loudly for Cassiopeia's already too thin line of constraint, which you could almost hear snap. She was about to go into something which contained a lot of shouting and some possible torturing, but found herself unable to speak. She turned to Shelby. He shrugged. "Not me. But I thank whoever did it." "Oh really?" Came a voice from behind them. Gemini caught Shelby's face fall into something very unhappy. Slowly, Shelby turned around. "What do you want?" Gemini, Cassiopeia, and every other person there didn't know who it was. But Shelby did. Possibly because it was a co-worker. _______________________________________________________________________ FIVE GUARDIANS _______________________________________________________________________ Tori streched, slowly, and got up. Swinging her head from side to side, she grabbed her hair and pulled it into a ponytail. "Okay," she told Lola, "let's go." They began skating down the path to Parleyville. Of course, they weren't going to get to Parleyville that night, but that was the fun of it. "So, what's up?" Asked Tori. "Other than Jack, obviously." "Tori, I've been thinking..." Started Lola, "...what if we just gave them what they _wanted_?" Tori turned a surprised glance toward her friend. "Like, you?" Lola nodded. "What if they're following us, right now?" She turned around and began skating backward, facing Tori. Tori messed up her face into a confused grin, of sorts. Lola smiled and shook her hair out, then pulled it back again while still skating. "How on earth do you do that without falling?" "Ryma." He stated, looking oh-so-not-happy. "Hi, Eclypse." She grinned, using his full, real name. "Don't call me that. I hate it. You know it." "Yeah. I know. Besides, you're not 'in uniform'. You know." Shelby's face lifted into it's normal bored look. "Hi, Catalina." He stated. Catalina turned around behind him. "Hey." Cassiopeia huffed. Gemini lifted an eyebrow. "Care to explain all this?" He asked. Shelby nodded. "Ryma's the Guardian of Direction, also called the North Star Guardian. Catalina's the Guardian of the Andromeda Galaxy. And Anastasia-" "-what?" "-should show up soon. She's the Guardian-" "-of various nebulae. Specifically the one located in Orion." Finished Anastasia. "What?" Said Orion, hearing her name. "What are you here for, anyway?" Shelby sighed. "Well," started Ryma, "first of all, we're here to ask you something, and then we're here to drag you along with us if you give us the right answer." "Oh, goody." Said Shelby, purely sarcastic. "Where's Derek?" Said Ryman. "Whose Derek?" Snorted Cassiopeia. "Guardian of Mischeif." Said Catalina absentmindedly. "He's over at Cassiopeia's house to ask her if she can come out and play." Sneered Shelby. Cassiopeia punched his arm. "Ouch. Truly, I have no idea." Shelby said, keeping one eye on Ryma and the other on Cassiopeia. "Oh. Oh well. Come on, you're coming with us." "No, I'm not." Shelby retorted. "Yeah, you are." She said, and with that, her outfit changed a little. A short metallic green cloak came about her shoulders, covering her brown t-shirt and black slacks. The other Guardian's clothes changed too: Catalina's to a blue cloak over black, Anastasia's to a red cloak over gray. Shelby's changed to all the tuxedo elements save the jacket and a black cape with a velvet dark purple lining. "Oh, no." Shelby said, turning his back to Ryma and crossing his arms. "I'm NOT going." "Yes, you ARE." She insisted, trying to get him to move by tugging on his shoulders. She gave up on that and went for the cape, trying to drag him back. "No I'M NOT!!" ********************************************************************** Author's Note: Is Shelby actually throwing some sort of tantrum here? Or is Ryma? Exactly _who_ is the protaganist? ********************************************************************** "YES you ARE!!" "Yo, people, a little _help_ here, that would be nice!?" Asked Shelby. Gemini yawned and boredly flicked the hilt of his sword out of his pocket and lit it up with some power, then cut off the bottom four or five inches of Shelby's cape, causing him to fall face-first to the ground. "Thawankyu." Came the incomprehensible reply. Lola sighed happily. Nothing had happened and she was safely out in the middle of nowhere with a superheroine. There wasn't anything that could really happen to you in a situation like this. "Gotcha!" A voice came out of nowhere, slapped a hand over her mouth. "UHWRI!" Lola *tried* to scream. "Huh?" Tori wheeled around and then grabbed the small golden heart locket around her neck. "Pegasus Millennium Heart, Make-up!" Sailor Pegasus stood where Tori had been. Then she realized that she'd transformed in front of Spica. Again. For the second time. "Not you again." She sighed. Spica nodded happily. "Me, again." It was dark. Then again, Orion didn't think it ever got light out here. _Then how does this grass grow?_ Only grass could be a truly important subject to Orion. She looked up. Shelby and Ryma were glaring at each other, sitting side by side. They'd been glaring at each other for two hours, now. Finally, they'd given up for awhile and sat down. However, the glaring didn't stop. She didn't think the glaring would stop for awhile. Lola stared straight ahead at Pegasus and Spica. She'd never seen two so-called enemies be so freaking polite. "So," Said Pegasus, "I just have one question right now: why the heck do you want her, anyway?" I nodded. I sort of wanted to know, too. "Well..." "...Spica, what do you think you're doing?" A girl with green hair pulled over to one side of her head and the stray yellow cat perched on her shoulder came over and pulled him roughly to one side. They talked for a minute or two. Spica disappeared and the girl went over to Pegasus. "Ahem... hi, my name's Vega." She was wearing the same outfit as Pegasus. Well, not quite the same. Everything on the outfit was white, with a few minor hints of red. The bodysuit, choker, headpiece, boots, skirt, and bows were white. The collar was white with red lines, the boots had a tiny amount of red trim, and a white star etched with red edging was in the middle of the bow. "Er... hello. I guess. I'm Pegasus." There was more sitting. And more staring. And more glaring between Shelby and Ryma. And more sitting and more staring... and more glaring between Shelby and Ryma. And then, there was more sitting, and staring, and glaring... The conversation went along just as it had with Spica. Pegasus and Vega talked, and the cat came over to her. "Hey." It said. Lola pulled back from it a little. Then she realized that yes, things like this were happening in her seemingly normal life. "Hi." She said. "I'm Derek." It said. "But everybody calls me Streak. 'Cos of my hair. Fur." He corrected. She nodded. "I'm Lola... pleased to meet you." "Do you know who you are?" He pressed. She shook her head. There was more sitting. And more staring. And more sitting and staring and glaring between Shelby and Ryma... "Well," Said Streak, "Lemme tell you. You're Sailor North Star... Sailor Polaris. And while I'm at it, you're also probably the princess of the White Star, the one we've been looking for. You posess powers that you don't know the strength of yet." He paused and winked. "You know, I bet you could probably be great friends with Princess Pegasi over there." Lola nodded. "Already am." Streak grinned. "Great." He turned and trotted back toward Vega, jumped on her shoulder, and said something in her ear. She nodded, said something to Pegasus, and the three ambled over to her. Pegasus and Vega leaned against some trees and gave each other suspicious looks. Streak winked again, and the white star on his forehead glowed a little. Then Lola felt the white star on the chain around her neck grow a little warm. It glowed... ...and all of a sudden everything had dissapeared, and she was surrounded by a bright white light. Everything was white. It wrapped around her, revealing a pure white sailor suit and gloves that looked as if they shouldn't stay on her hands, but did. White boots completed the outfit. She stopped on the ground, and looked around. Somehow, her senses seemed... more alert. Pegasus smiled and gave her a little thumbs up. Vega smiled too, and the cat hopped onto her shoulder. _Maybe this won't turn out so badly..._ There was more sitting, and staring, and glaring. Finally, Gemini got up and tried pulling Eclypse away from the insane staring contest, then gave up and tried pulling North Star. It didn't work. He sat back down. Orion got up and waved her hand in between the two. Not a twich, much less a blink. Cassiopeia mumbled something about how they were going to be here all night. North Star got up, and pronounced Cassiopiea absolutely right. "We're leaving!" "Can't go anywhere without me." Remarked Shelby. "You're coming." She announced. Shelby shook his head sadly, regretting all the sitting and staring whose cause had been completely lost. Polaris's head turned from one side to the other. Pegasus, however, just looked at Vega and then asked a really simple question: "You never answered. What did you want, anyway?" Vega shrugged. "It's simple, really- we don't _want_ anything." Tori tilted her head to the side. "Huh?" "We need a savior." She said. "And that savior happens to be hiding somewhere in there." She pointed to Polaris. Polaris's eyes got really wide. "However, nothing's set into stone yet, you know... we've got the Guardians to deal with." Streak/Derek the cat nodded unhappily. "Ryma's probably mad as all hell." He added, somewhat uncomfortably. "For me disappearing on her and for doing this." He added. Pegasus sighed. "Tell me more." She said, and waited. Vega smiled. "All I can tell you is this: we're not your enemies, Sailor Pegasus, so we're not going to harm you- or her. But I don't think you could count us as friends just yet." *************************************** Sailor Pegasus Says: Wow, we ended on a mysterious note today. Who knows what White Star Soldier Vega ment? *big idoit smile to confuse people* Tori says: That's the cheesiest ending I've written yet! Speaking of cheese, I think I'm going to hold a workshop of how to put cheese on hot dogs. Some people need it. **************************************
